Although rare, we sometimes receive reports of clients receiving the following error when trying to send email:
This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. The client operation failed. Error is [0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501].
This article discusses some of the possible causes of this error and possible remedies.
Typical Causes of Error 0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501
Typically this error indicates a problem with a clients internal Local Area Network (LAN) such as an intermittent loss of signal with a wireless LAN or a connection or signal problem with a network cable.
Clients who have experienced this error message often report that the problem seemed to fix itself. They sometimes report that the problem reappears a few hours or a few days later and then once again mysteriously went away. If this is happening to you then you need to have someone check your office or home network.
Clients with wireless networks should be aware that there are many things that can affect the quality of their wireless connections. For example, cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, garage door openers and microwave ovens can each take down a Wi-Fi network connection when powered on. So can the operation or some heavy machinery or unshielded electrical devices such as electric motors.

Clients with wired connections should have their network cabling and related network switches inspected by a qualified network technician.
Other causes of Error 0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501
This problem can also be caused by an out-of-resource problem on the clients local workstation or corruption of your local Microsoft Outlook cache.
If you are sure there is not some sort of network connectivity issue involved then you might try doing a reinstall or repair of Microsoft Outlook. If this does not solve your problem, you might try doing a repair of your local Microsoft Outlook .OST or .PST file(s).
